The Sun will shine again.

This morning I woke up and looked outside the window. I saw the rain and the dark clouds and I just wanted to go back to bed. I got dressed and stepped out to face the day. The rain continued, and the dark clouds remained. I made sure my jacket was with me for when I needed it.

As people kept saying the day will get brighter and the sun will shine in the afternoon, I didn’t really believe them. I couldn’t see where the sun will come from. I imagined the day to be filled with rain and more rain because that is what I could see at that particular moment.
Few hours later, I stepped out again for my lunch, and to my surprise the weather had changed. The sun was out shining and the heat was just beaming. It was nothing like the cold, rainy weather I had experienced a few hours earlier on. Things had changed. People were no longer carrying their jackets or scarves, but rather they had their sunglasses, sandals and just their shirts.
I thought how quickly things can change.

You may look at your own life, and see all the horrible, unbearable things that are happening to you and you almost can’t see things ever changing, or maybe you’ve been waiting for change but nothing has happened and you just feel like giving up. Well…… I’ve got news for you. Things can change and things will change. The fact that you cannot see the change does not mean that the change will never occur. Your current circumstances do not have to determine your future, neither does your past.

I know it can be very difficult to be hopeful and positive, when everything surrounding you is telling you different, but in due course, with patience and preparation your sun will shine again.

Sometimes we’ve got to put aside what it is that we do see (our circumstances) and put our focus and energy on the things hoped for yet unseen. If you have enough patience and prepare yourself for that thing you want, when it finally comes you will be able to enjoy it.

It is important to have patience, whilst waiting for things to change. Lack of patience will cause you to get off track and lose focus. Equally it is very important to prepare yourself. Those who expected it to rain prepared themselves by having their umbrellas, jackets etc. Equally those who hoped for sunshine made their own preparation.

Whatever it is you’re hoping for or desire to have, make the necessary preparation for it, so that when it finally does happen you know the necessary things in order to preserve it.

A woman, who is expecting a child, will tell you how important preparation is. From the very moment she discovers she’s pregnant, she knows change has to happen and she’s got to prepare herself for the changes that are about to take place. Such changes can include changes in her dietary, changes in her sleeping hours, also physical changes. These are all changes she may have to adjust to.

Changes will happen but the question is are we ready for the changes and what preparation are we making for the changes?
Stay positive and encouraged, knowing that your sunshine is about to shine again.

Love always

Purpose

A father on his death-bed called his wife and son to bid them farewell. In the midst of the tears the son drew closer to his father to hear his last words to him. His father whispered in his ear and said “Son, don’t do life like I did. I didn’t do right by you or your mother and never really made a difference”. He then died.

If you had only six months to live, how would you live your life? How would you spend your time? Who would you spend your time with? What would you do?

You can never make a difference until you discover your purpose on earth. In the place of purpose significance is birthed and life finds meaning.

Purpose is becoming who you were born to be; doing what you were created to do, having what you were created to have within a specific time frame, that if well understood it could influence your generation and the generation yet unborn. Thereby leaving your thumb print on the document of destiny.

So how are you spending your time? Whom are you spending your time with, how are they helping you to grow? The father who was on the death bed may have thought he had all the time in the world to do all the great things he wanted to do. Be a good Husband to his wife, be a great father to his son and generally live out his dream, but life was cut short.

The truth is tomorrow is not promised. We are all living but we don’t know when our time will be cut off. One could say we’re on borrowed time and each day spent is important and can never be brought back. We enjoy reading about people who have left a legacy in this world or going to the museums and seeing people who done marvellous things that we are now enjoying, but what are we going to leave behind? Are we only going to be remembered by our family members when we die or are we going to leave our very own legacy?

Some people may not want to be remembered, they just want to go through the process of living and then dying as if they never existed. Well…. I choose to be different, I choose to leave a great name for my unborn children and the generation to come, I choose to leave my print on this world, even when I die they must know that I once lived.

Whatever you are doing in life, do it in the best way that you can. If you’re a singer, sing like you’ve never sang before. If it’s serving, serve like you’ve never served before. In all that you do, do it like only you alone can do it. No one can play football like you do. No one can style clothes like you do. No one can motivate like you do. Whatever you do understand that no one can do it like you do it. But YOU, yes YOU have to believe it first before anyone else can believe it.

So be a go getter and JUST DO IT

WELCOME TO FINDING MY WAY

This blog is about the renewal of the mind, overcoming past failures and using them as a stepping stone for the future.

Let’s face it; we’ve all had challenges in our lives. We’ve had things we did not expect occurring. Some things we can change, whilst others we cannot change. Regardless of the challenges, they have all formed us into the person we are today,

Life is a journey and we are all bound to come across different hurdles that we must learn to jump. Some people choose to get stuck in the past and a few years later they realise that so much time was wasted on things they had absolutely no control over. Things happen in life to teach us lessons, now it’s our duty as students of life to learn from our past mistakes and make sure that if the test was to come again we are able to pass.

I have had my fair share of heartache and disappointments but one thing I have learned or I am learning in my journey in life is that , whatever I experience or go through, am not the first to go through it and I certainly won’t be the last. I refuse to beat myself up about what could have been and am working daily on what can be.

So join me on this journey of ‘Finding our way’

We are all on a journey and I hope you get to your desired destination.

Love always
